Baby Skoruppa # 2.....

is another boy!!!  Owen David Skoruppa!!
Ok I am way behind so bare with me as I catch you all up on everything.  I will start with the birth of my precious baby!
Owen David was born on October 16th at 1:24pm.  Here is his birth story along with his birth weight story.  My repeat c-section was scheduled for 11:00 am that day.  Of course they are always behind scheduled so we had to wait a little bit.  I was getting nervous about the c-section but it wasn't bad since I have already been through it.  The anesthesiologist came in several times giving me more meds.  At one time she came back and added some stuff to my IV and I had to drink some really nasty stuff.  Whatever that woman gave me made me totally freak out.  I started shaking and all I kept telling Bert was to get me out of there that I couldn't have this baby and I was dead serious.  I don't know what came over me.  After about 10 minutes I all of a sudden started calming down again.  Shortly after there was another round of meds.  They pumped me so full of fluids that Bert said my face just swelled up.  Mind you I didn't gain much weight with this pregnancy.  I think it was maybe around 19 or 20 lbs.  With Brody I had gained I think 34lbs.  Then before I knew it they were wheeling me to the OR.  Maybe it's just me but there sure does seem to be a lot of people in the OR room.  Maybe it's a good thing they drug you up a little before you go in cause if they didn't I would probably feel a lot more uncomfortable.  Then in walks Dr. Cook :)  I just love me Dr!!!  He comes and ask how I'm doing and then I notice my husband still isn't in there which is weird cause when Dr. Cook comes in the baby is usually out in 5 minutes.  So I asked where he was and he was just standing right outside the door.  A few minutes later Bert is standing up to tell me that it was another BOY!!!  Dr. Cook held him up and said "Dusty you have another 8lber here"!  I just have big babies!  When they went to weigh him the scale said 7lbs 14oz.  Even the person weighing him let the scale clear out and redid it cause they didn't think it was right either but it came up the same.  They got me all cleaned up and then off to recovery I went.  I never got sick after Brody but with this one they couldn't hardly move the bed.  Finally we made it to the room.  Mom and Dory were there with all the kids including Brody.  Brody wasn't to happy but I think he was just tired that day.  And now that I'm typing this we never took a family pic in the hospital.  Needless to say they didn't stay very long but I was so happy to see my big boy :)  Owen was totally different from Brody since the beginning.  Owen was so wide awake and alert already in the hospital and that child came out making noises and grunting.  He still grunts all the time and in his sleep.  It's so cute and I can finally sleep through it.  Brody slept most of the time and I don't think we even saw his eyes the first week.  Anyways back to my little Owie.  He was just perfect!  Had perfect skin, dark hair and the cutest little nose ever!  We ended up letting him go back and forth to the nursery so I could get some sleep and the hospital stay was far better than last time. They were literally in and out of our room every hour last time even at night.  This time maybe every 3 hours and some of the times I just dozed right back off while they were checking all my vitals.  The first night we had a wonderful nurse (they were really all great) and at one point she came to take Owen to take him back and check him out.  When she came back with him she said his blood sugar was kind of low and they kind of wanted to keep an eye on it and I also heard her say he was 8lbs 6oz???  What??  He was only 7lbs 14oz at birth.  So the next day Bert went across the street to get us sandwiches from the little shop and he runs into Dr. Cook at the elevators and tells him about the weight and he said I knew that boy was bigger.  Then a lady walks around the corner and Dr. Cook started getting on her about the scales in the room and how they have been wrong and needed to get fixed.  So he had our birth paperwork fixed and all.  By the next day I was ready to go home.  I felt good and had been walking around the halls and showering and just wanted to get out.  When the Dr. made the rounds that morning Dr. Cook didn't come but one of the other new ones.  She said I had to stay one more day but I'm pretty sure I would of gone crazy.  About 2ish Bert had to get out so he went for a walk and ran into Dr. Cook again and told him we wanted out.  He asked how I was and called up right away to have the ped look over Owen and if he was ok to release so was I.  By 3:30 we were on our way home!  Here are a few pics of little Owie at the hospital!

13 Mths & baby update.

13 Months Old!!

I just realized right before I titled this blog that my baby boy is 13mths today :(  It really makes me sad seeing him grow up so quick.  Here are a few things he's up to these days:

walks everywhere now.  it is so weird seeing him come around the corner walking!
eats like his daddy (his food serving are actually bigger than mine)  i don't know where he puts it.
all I've ever really heard him say is Sis (sissy our inside dog), daddy and I could swear he said bye bye the other day but Bert thinks I'm crazy.
The only milk he has is a sippy 1st thing in the morning and he doesn't let you forget to give him that.
He loves our horses.  In the mornings when we get him up and after milky he likes to play on our bed with us and the 1st thing he does is look out the window to see our  horses.  Daddy even sometimes takes him with him to feed and he gets to sit on them.
He loves our dogs.  He likes sissy the most but she can't stand to be near him.  It's so funny sometimes he thinks she chasing him and all she is really trying to do is get away but be close to me.

He is such a good baby but he will show you that attitude I swear he gets from his daddy.

Baby # 2

We went back to the Dr. on the 5th and it was pretty much the same thing.  Everything is holding up and to stay off my feet as much as possible.  I also had my 1 hour glucose which I only failed by 8 pts but they wanted me back for the 3 hr.

On the 19th I had to go back for my 3 hour and then I had an u/s.  FYI the 3 hour glucose test totally sucks.  This u/s went by fairly smooth.  Even though this child was acting crazy again the tech was pretty quick.  She got what she needed and made me a CD with the pics.  She asked if my Dr. was checking my cervix at every appt which he does but that question kind of threw me off cause I know they can look at and measure my cervix with there machine.  I didn't get to see Dr. Cook that day.

The pressure and the stabbing pains started getting worse.  Sometimes they hurt so bad that I have to sit on the closest chair or I just hunch over and wait for them to go away.  I am just so ready to not hurt and be comfortable once again.

My next appt with Dr. Cook was on Aug. 2nd.  He checked my cervix but he didn't say anything at all about it.  He told me to stay off my feet and that he was going to give me a prescription for steroid shots.  What??? Really??  These shots help develop the baby's lungs in case the baby is born prematurely.  That kind of freaked me out.  And the fact he didn't say anything about my cervix has my mind working overtime.  Another weird thing is is when he checked my cervix usually it is such an uncomfortable hurt you just can't relax, this time I didn't hardly feel anything cause he wasn't up to his elbow.   I picked up my prescription and I go back in on the 16th for another u/s and my 1st steroid shot.  Between every appt the pains and uncomfortableness gets worse and worse.  It is so hard for me to even sleep at night and I still have 2 1/2mths to go....maybe.   Anyway we will see what happens on the 16th.

I have a trip for work coming up on the 12-14th that he told I can't go on.  I think I may still drive up on the 13th to the corporate office and drive home.  And Bert has a hunting trip coming up and I am hoping nothing crazy happens to mess up those plans.

Brody's 1st B-Day!!

I'm finally getting around to blog about Brody's B-Day Party!  I posted the pics already but that was all.  One of these days I'm going to get back in order and blog regularly.  Brody's birthday party turned out awesome!  I was so stressed in trying to get everything in order but at the end it all came together.  I think everyone seemed to have a really good time including both of my kids (Brody & Bert).  At the last minute I ended up getting a big water slide and we made the mistake of telling Bert grownups could go on it.  He was on that thing before guest arrived and I had to make him get out when it was time to open presents...KIDS!  Brody received tons of great presents from family and friends!  Bert and I got him a playset with a slide and a four wheeler (my fav)!  He also received clothes, money and a lot of toys that make noise...YAY!   I was a little worried about how he was going to do since we were just getting over double ear infections that were pretty bad but he actually seemed to have a great time.  My poor baby usually never acts sick and we don't realize there's anything wrong until it gets bad.  Maybe this means he's going to be my tough little boy!  All in all it was a super day but I am not looking forward to planning another one next year.

Baby Skoruppa # 2

I was always worried about the 3D Ultrasounds cause they always kind of looked freaky to me but once she showed me and explained what everything was I think it's the coolest thing I've ever seen!!!

Finally an update!

My life has been nothing but crazy these past few months.  We are having another baby, planning a 1st Birthday party, adding on (might as well say building) to our house and work has been super crazy stressful so I will try and catch up the best I can.

Let me start with my big baby boy!!  I just love my Brody to pieces!!  He is always so happy and he is just at a super fun stage!  I can not believe that he will be 1 in 2 very short weeks :(  This whole Birthday Party planning is driving me crazy.  I want so bad to have it at our house but being that it will be under contruction it might not happen.  I'm just going to play it by ear and if we have to change it at the last minute to my mom and dads we will just let everyone know.  We only invited mostly family so it will only be one group text to everyone the week before.  Everything else will hopefully fall into place by the 7th.  Anway here is what my baby is up to.

- He is actually taking a few steps.  Bert and I could get him to take about 2 steps between us until he would hit the floor but last night he actually did about 4-5 just in the middle of Bert's mom and dads living room!!!  YAY!  I'm so happy cause he sure is getting a little heavy for me to carry.

- I took all bottles away at at about 10 1/2 months.  He was only getting 2 a day about 8 oz each so we just switched to a sippy with 1/2 lactose free & 1/2 whole milk!  I was so happy to be rid of those bottles!  He never really cared about the bottle so it wasn't hard at all to take away.

- He was moved up about 2 weeks ago in daycare finally.  They kind of had to cause they said he was starting to sit on the other kids that just laid on the floor that weren't mobile yet.  My son is 23lbs so I'm sure that wasn't comfy for the little babies.  He had a horrible 1st day in his new class (so did mommy) but we both survived and the next day was much better.  Thank goodness he only cried that 1st day when I dropped him off cause I probably wouldn't have left him again if he would of kept that up.  And I am so happy I do not have to buy baby food anymore.  They provide all meals to him during day!

-  He has gotten a lot more vocal so we're guessing he's picking it up from the older kids in class!

-  We can not eat in front of this child if we don't plan on sharing with him.  It is horrible!!  I swear my child has a tapeworm or something.  When I get home and start cooking in the evenings he is in that kitchen circling me like a hawk crying.  He eats all day at school so I know he's not starving.  A few of his favorites are ham and cheese sandwhich(a whole one), grilled cheese, eggs, pizza (he eats 2 slices), pancakes and pretty much whatever is on our plate.  At 1st he didn't seem to fond of anything with hamburger meat but he proved to me last night that he was over that when he ate a whole plate serving of enchilada, rice & beans made by Aunt Paula!  Oh and don't let me leave out the plate of hamburger helper the other night.  It was a serving what I would normally eat.

-  He has only been taking one nap a day around 11ish.  Nap time has always been so hard for us and it still is but he does tend to sleep a little longer now.

I guess that's all about Brody.  I'm sure like always I left something out but I'm just trying to get caught up.

Now onto Baby # 2

Let me start off by saying that this pregnancy is 100% different than Brody.  If I didn't see a huge belly in the mirror with Brody I wouldn't have known I was prego.

I might have mentioned this in my other post but right before I found out I was PG I started doing the 24 day advocare challenge.  I noticed after I drank the spark I would start feeling real nauseaous and crappy the rest of the day.  I just thought well maybe it's the caffeine in it so I stopped drinking those and kept up with everything else.  When I found out on Feb 16th I was PG I stopped taking all of the stuff and realized what was really making me sick.  From the beginning I just didn't feel right about something with this pregnancy and I still don't know why cause everything is great with the baby but just not with me.  Bert swears up and down that I am having a girl cause my emotions are all over the place.  I have also been very tired with this one but that has a lot to do with Brody.

We have had several appts and US already and I guess that's just routine with my Dr.'s office.  At every appt everything has looked great with the baby.  We had our anatomy scan I think on the 24th and the baby looked perfect.  Still in the back of my mind I was worried and stressing about something being wrong with my baby.  After our anatomy scan we saw Dr. Cook and went over everything and it was like it went in one ear and out the other.  I guess it's the fact of how low the baby and much pressure I feel down there when the baby moves that's freaking me out but I honestly don't know.  Maybe it's all the stress I have and I'm worried that it's going to cause problems.  I had been having some weird pains that I never had with Brody on my right side and he said it's a sciatic nerve and when it hurts I need to rest.  Rest???  What's that?

We had another appt yesterday so I finally decided I'm going to spill my guts to the Dr. about how I've been feeling.  Thank goodness my extremely busy Dr. had some spare time to listen to me.  Mind you I had a little break down at home Wednesday night so my wonderful hubby that is putting up with an awful lot decided he will go with me.  I was so happy he went!  I told him about my fears with this baby and all the extra pains and stress I am having.  He said good news is your stitch is holding up but your baby is sitting right on top of my cervix.  He went back through everything and told me that baby # 2 is 100% healthy so I can relieve myself  of that stress now.  He also told me to quit my job but that's not happening so he told me to do as little as I can to get by at work.  He pointed at Bert and said let him take care of the house situation...Ha...he doesn't know my husband very well.  He did make a comment though about if I couldn't relax a little that we would have to make me relax.  I told Bert when we left that I refuse to go on bed rest so we have to figure out something.  He said you have 17 more weeks to keep that baby in there so do whatever you need to to make that happen.  He also wants to start seeing me every 2 weeks and every 4 weeks I will go downstairs for big US.  The same people that did my anatomy scan.

This pregnancy is going to be the end of me.  I told Bert if this is a girl we are going to have to think long and hard about having another one.  I really would like 3 no matter what but I don't know if I can go through this again.  Ok I guess this is long enough.  Hopefully pretty soon I will have some pictures on the computer to post!

9 months & another one on the way!!

So I just realized that I skipped 8 months, but nothing has really changed!  We had our well visit check up today and big boy is 28 1/2" long & 22 1/2lbs!  He is a big one!  Dr. Dimmick said everything looks great and to keep up the good work!  We also had our terrible 2's talk today.  He said he has seen kids start as young as 9 months throwing temper tantrums.  Brody definetely gets mad at me but I don't think we have hit that stage yet and when he does it's not gonna be fun.  I am a discipliner so my poor son doesn't stand a chance.  Dr. Dimmick even mentioned that in our talk.  He was my Dr. growing up and if I could I would probably still go see him for random things, but he said well I know how you are so I'm pretty sure your going to do a good job when it comes to this.  He also said that I need to start giving him table food.  Now I am one paranoid mama and if it was up to me I would probably be feeding him baby food forever, but I guess I will let him gradually try things.  He did have rice salad and some kind of potatoe casserole yesterday and did fine but it's still scary to me.  Now lets get to the fun stuff that my little man is up to these day!

3-6oz bottles a day and the last one being at 3:30!
Still an army crawler but he gets were he wants to go!
Starting pulling himself up on things yesterday!
Still not a very good napper so we are lucky to get 2/30-45 min naps a day!
Still only eating stage 3 foods 3 times a day cause I'm scared to death of him choking, but he gets cereal for breakfast, a meat and veggie for lunch & a meat and veggie and a fruit for dinner!
He eats a lot and usually trys to throw a fit when we are done.
Loves bath time!  I sure hope this means he's gonna love the water as much as we do!
Loves his daddy!  If Bert is around it's all about him!
Gives kisses every now and then, sometimes he just turns his head and laughs at you! Stinker!
Gives his mama a hug all the time.  Still won't hug his daddy.
Loves our dog Jesse!  He likes Sissy too but she's mean to him.
Loves his blankies (he has 4 so I can alternate them out)!  He usually never lets it go so he sleeps with it!
And he will take steps while we hold his hands and walk with him!

Brody is just an absolute joy to be around.  He is always smiling and happy!  Bert always jokes about how his face must hurt from smiling so much!  He was a pretty fussy baby so for him to go from fussing a lot to smiling even more is just great!

We had a great long Easter weekend!  Even though Brody really isn't old enough to get into it we still had fun watching the cousin play on Sunday!  I am a horrible mother and didn't get any pictures.  We decided to go to the bay on Friday.  We took the boat and brought everything with the thought of we might finally get to take Brody out and see what he thinks.  Well when we got there the wind was pretty bad so Bert didn't even want to go fishing and fight the wind so we just stayed at the bay house and made some ribeyes and baked potatoes.  We went home that evening with the intentions on trying again Saturday.  I can't tell you what we did Saturday but I don't think we left the house but maybe once.  Sunday we got up and went to Church, then to visit Bert's mom and dad & then off to the bay again!  My son never naps at the bay so I was happy he slept for about 30 mins in the car on the way there.  We had a good time with the family.  Brody just loves watching Dory's kids, they always make him laugh cause they are so silly!  Mosquitos weren't horrible but if you got out in the grass they were and they started to stir up so we left about 5ish.  I was so tired I was falling asleep on the way home and Brody passed out before the car even started rolling.  So we got home ate, took and bath & were off to bed!

Now for even more exciting news!!  Bert and I are having another baby!!  I know I'm crazy and it's going to be a handful but I'm pretty sure I can handle it!  We found out on February 16th.  My sister started to sale advocare products and we wanted to do the 24 day challenge.  I didn't need to lose weight I just wanted to feel better and put something healthy in my body.  I started that on February 6th.  I was the only one that wasn't feeling better I actually was feeling worse and at 1st I thought it was the spark cause of all the extra caffeine.  I drink sodas but maybe 1 a day and spark had way more caffeine in it.  Anyway the 16th I decided to take a test.  The 1st one had a very very faint line so I thought it can't be but I also had a digital one and that one came out with a big fat positive!  I pretty much freaked!  I was shaking so bad I couldn't even hold anything!  We weren't exactly trying to get pregnant like the charting or anything but we definetely weren't taking any precautions.  Anyway Bert had no clue that I was even going to test and I did it at work cause I didn't think anything of it I just figured I that I wasn't feeling good for some reason.  Instead of calling him I took a pic of the test and text it to him.  He called right away and was like "what is that?".  We are both super excited and I am a little nervous but it's going to be great having them so close in age!

Wednesday I go in for the worst part of the pregnancy and that is to have my cerclage placed.  I am not looking forward to this at all.  One major reason is I know I will not be able to pick up my son that day or the next day.  My mom is keeping him so I know he will be ok, but I still want him with me.  Bert said if he isn't on a job we can go there in the evening and feed him, bathe him & put him down for bed so we will see.  I don't really remember everything from last time but I do remember getting up the next moring, and I always have my bed made, so I tried to make it and that was the worst decision I made.  I will talk to my Dr. more about it Wednesday morning beofe I go in.

On anther good note we are closing on our house tomorrow morning so hopefully our builders can start with the add on soon cause we sure need it!!!

I don't really have any pictures to post but I will get some soon!
