20 Week Anatomy Scan!!

We are finally halfway there and I am getting even more excited about meeting our little one and finding out what he/she is!!  We had our 20 week anatomy scan at my Dr. office in Houston on Saturday so I took advantage of having my husband in Houston on the weekend and did some shopping also but first my appt.  Our appt. was at 10:30 and I was super excited about going just to be reassured that everything is perfectly good with the baby.  Our ultrasound tech was very nice and let us know what was going on the entire appt.  Everything checked out good with the baby and is measuring 2 days earlier than my due date so she was saying we were 20 weeks and 2 days instead of excatly 20 weeks.  Our baby weighed in at a whopping 13oz.  I was not expecting he/she to be that big already since on my iPhone babycenter app was saying the baby should be around 10 1/2 oz. but I guess that just goes to show I rely on what the internet says way to much.  But we are almost 1lb!!!  We told her right away we didn't want to know what we are having so she didn't even look herself.  She took tons of pics for my file and then she took a couple for us and let us see our little one move around on the screen.  Here is a belly pic and a couple ultrasound pics.  My belly seems to be getting bigger everyday.

After that I drug Bert around to get his opinion on baby stuff I have picked out.  First we went to Babies-R-Us and our 1st stop was to look at car seats and strollers.  I had a girl car seat picked out but was going crazy that they didn't have a matching stroller and I had a boy car seat and stroller picked out.  Well I take him shopping with me for a reason.  First thing he said about it was the boy stroller was really nice but we plan on taking our child everywhere with us so he didn't think with the small wheels and stuff it would be good for down at the bay or our outside activities that we love to go to so we started looking at the jogging strollers with the big tires.  They had a green and black stroller/carseat combo that would be cute for a boy and then a purple stroller/carseat for the girl.  And even though I am not crazy about either one right now I'm sure they will grow on me cause the price is hard to beat and the reviews are pretty good.  We kind of looked through the high chairs and play pens but those aren't really big deal right now and we want to find a neutral one we like so we don't have to buy a new one for kid.  Off to the bedding...I had my girl one picked out that I absolutely love but as I was looking on the wall I saw one that wasn't displayed in a crib that I loved even more so we have a definite girl bedding picked out and we picked out one boy bedding there.  Then we went to USABaby and they have a ton more bedding and they have my original girl one so it's possibly still in the running.  We found another cute boy bedding we both liked so now we just have to choose between the one at babies-r-us and usababy but that won't be to hard.  So then I was done and he was ready to go home!  Hopefully this week or next week we will be getting our baby furniture in finally but then that's all we can do until our little one is here!!

And more great news...I found out Saturday that my cousin Jessica and her husband Nathan are expecting there first baby!!! She is 11 weeks along and her due date is me and Bert's anniversary Sept. 18th!!  I couldn't be happier for them and I know they will make wonderful parents!!

Baby Names!!

We have our names picked out!!  Well we have a definite boy name and we both picked out a girl name so if we have a girl we will have to see which name wins.  Our boy name is Brody Lee (Lee being Bert's middle name) and my girl name is Fallyn Ann (I have wanted to name my little girl Fallyn since college days when I first heard the name in one of my classes and Ann is both of our mothers middle names) and his girl name is Sophia Lauren (Sophia is really pretty and Lauren is my middle name).  Who knows maybe eventually we will use all three of these names!!

17 Week 2 Day Appt!!

I haven't blogged in a while so I will do a catch up real quick on all that's been going on.  On the 29th we had to go to Katy for the Go Texan Team Penning.  Bert helps out with this a lot so we had to be there and I was kind of excited about getting out of the house the only thing is we had planned on leaving the house at 5:30 a.m so I had to get up at 4:30 a.m.  As I was getting dressed I put on my regular blue jeans and not only could I not button them they were tight on my legs and butt it was like I grew overnight cause I had just worn these jeans the day before and they weren't that bad and Bert was like you can not wear those so I decided to try on some prego jeans my sister had given me.  They were a little to big but they were so comfortable and it felt so good ecspecially for that ride to Katy.  Both teams did really good but our junior team did get 3rd place and one a trophy and boots so we went out to eat and celebrate after.  As we were eating I asked Bert if we could go shopping for some more jeans cause Dory only had 1 pair of jeans since she was mostly prego during the summer time everything is capris or shorts so he said sure.  I tryed to find a Motherhood Maternity in Katy but the only one was in Katy Mills Mall so I wanted to go there and stop by JcPenney.  Well once we were done eating I was so tired and ready for bed that I decided to just stop by JcPenney.  They didn't have a very big maternity section but all of there jeans were on sale and I got 2 pair and I love them.  They are all still kind of big on me but I am filling them out pretty quick these days.  The next day I was sick, my throat was real sore and I was coughing a lot but I just figured it was the dust from being in the arena and all.  Monday morning I woke up and was miserable but I had to go to work cause it was end of the month my busiest day.  I didn't last very long and I stopped at Dory's and she checked my temp and it was 100.2 which isn't horrible but I was definetly sick so I went home.  Tuesday I had to come to work again still feeling like crap but just for a little while.  I called Dr. Cook's office and Mary Jane called in a prescription for me and when I went to pick it up the pharmacist came and talked to me about all of these warnings and side effects so I was scared to take it cause I did not want to harm me or our baby and the only other thing she told me I could take was tylenol extra strength.  I went home and I took one dose and slept a lot.  That afternoon Bert got called for a job to go up North and deliver some stuff so he was going to try and leave around midnight since he had to be there at 8:00 Wednesday morning.  He felt bad about leaving me all sick and stuff but I was fine.  Anyway after he left I went back to sleep and woke up about 4:00 and it was like I had just got out of a swimming pool and crawled in bed I was soaked and when I uncovered I was so cold but I got up and dried off and that was the last of my fever.  I am still coughing and stuff but it has gotten way better. 

The other day I decided to start looking for baby furniture online so I went to JcPenney's website and tada there was the perfect furniture set with awesome reviews.  It comes with the 4-in-1 crib a 5 draw dresser and a dresser/changing table and you can purchase the hutch separately and I can so see my child growing up with this furniture so hopefully we will be ordering it pretty soon as for everything else I will have to wait and get.  I have a lot of my stuff picked out for a boy and a girl so my plan is to make one book with all the boy stuff I want if it's a boy and another book with all the girl stuff I want and when our baby is born my sister and mom will get my credit card and the appropriate list and be sent to Babie's R Us to get it all and where ever else they need to go.  Babie's R Us has the 2 carseats I have picked out and the strollers in stock. 

Now for appt. updates.  I am 17 weeks 4 Days and so close to being halfway there.  Dory needed to go so I decided to give my husband a break and us girls go and go a little shopping also.  Our appt was originally scheduled for the 3rd but thanks to the icey conditions we had to postpone so we went Tuesday.  I left work a little earlier so we could eat and shop.  We went to Babie's R Us to look around and to Carter's.  Carter's has so many cute clothes and we got all Dory's kids some really cute outfits but as I was looking around I saw these really cute onsies now remember I am the one that wants no neutral colors well I bought the baby it's first outfit.  It's yellow and has a little duck on the front and then a big duck head on the butt and it was just too cute to pass up.  Then we went to eat at Red Lobster and it was delicious.  It alwasy seems like it takes forever at our Dr.s office but it didn't seem that long this time.  Dory got called back and like 3 minutes later I got called.  I told her she could come to my room if she was done first but couldn't look at the ultrasound since she's pretty much a pro at reading them.  So she text me she was done and Dr. Cook wasn't there yet so I told her to come on back.  Well he got there shortly after and the first thing he asked is where is your hubby?  I told him he didn't come with me cause Dory had to come but I had told him I would get some good pics of the baby.  Dr. Cook is so fast during ultrasounds and the pics never come out to good and he usually would just give me one well he took 4 pretty decent ones for me. Well as soon as he put that thing on my belly he picked it up realy quick and told Dory to turn around then he looked around for a little bit and told her she could turn back around.  We asked if he could tell what it was and all he said was I think so and kind of smiled.  I thought when this day came I would not be happy that Dr. Cook knew but I didn't but it doesn't bother me at all.  He said everything looked great and he didn't want to see me for a month which I am so happy about cause this every 2 weeks driving to Htown is crazy but I do have to go on the 26th for our anatomy scan but that one will be fun and it's on a Saturday.  And I even think it's the weekend of the Houston Cookoff so we can leave there and go check things out over there for a little while.  I think I am finally done.  I am going to post my ultrasound pics and a belly pic.  They all look kind of blurry on the computer but hopefully you all will be able to see them ok.  I'm hoping to get some really good baby pics at our anatomy scan!!

17 Weeks 4 Days

Checkup!

Yesterday was my 1 week checkup after my cerclage...Dr. Cook just wanted to make sure everything looked the way it should and we got to see the baby again!!  Our appt. was at 1:30 and as soon as we were going back to the room Dr. Cook was leaving for a delivery so we thought we could just see Mary Jane and go home well I guess we had to wait for him cause we were in the room until 3:15 and he shows up.  I'm ok with waiting but Bert get's kind of crazy when we have to wait long but it was all worth it.  Dr. Cook came in and checked my cerclage and everything looks great. Yay!!  I was anxious to see our baby even though it was just 2 weeks ago since our last ultrasound.  As soon as he started looking I reminded him we do not want to know what we are having if he could tell already and all he could say is "why not?".  Dr. Cook and Dr. Melham just can't believe we don't want to find out and I am going to make sure I remind them every time cause they see so many patients I don't want them to forget and tell us one day.  Anyway little Baby Skoruppa was moving around a lot and that was the first time we actually saw it move so it was really neat.  Bert claims that the baby was moving it's left hand so he thinks the baby will be left handed (he's crazy) but it was really neat seeing the babies spine and hearbeat (even though we see this everytime we go)  and it moving and all.  I did get a pic but it was not a very good one so I will wait until next time to post one.  For some reason Dr. Cook wants me back in 2 weeks again so hopefully we will get a better pic then.  Last thing for today...over the past 4-5 days Bert noticed that my belly was starting to pooch out some.  We noticed a very small change about a week and half ago but nothing really sticking out but over these past few days we can tell.  If you saw me today you wouldn't think I was prego just putting on a few pounds, but hopefully I will get out of that stage soon.  I will post pics of my belly later when it becomes really noticeable.

Cerclage is done!!

Everything went really well Wednesday with my little procedure.  We got there at 7:15am but our appointment was at 8:00 but they got us in pretty quick and we were on the road home shortly after 9:00.  I was really drowsy and just wanted to sleep on the way home but Houston traffic scares me but as soon as we got home I was out.  Wednesday was a pretty lazy day and I had my moments of little pains here and there but whatever they gave me to knock me out stayed with me all day cause I was drowsy until Thursday when I woke up so the good news is the pain didn't really bother me cause I just slept through it.  When I got up Thursday I felt ok so I did my normal routine of making Bert's coffee then making the bed when he left and then showering well that was obviously to much cause the pain was back and this time I couldn't sleep through it but I decided it's best if I just don't get up like the Dr. told me.  By the evening I was going crazy being locked up in the house so I got Bert to take me to town.  He needed to go by the bank so I went along for the ride and everything seemed fine and I was hungry for strawberries so I made him go by the store and get me some.  Today is much better, I'm still probably doing a little bit to much but since he didn't have to work I had him bring me to El Campo so I figured while him and my dad went out to Danevang I would stay at my folks house and since mom is babysitting my nephew Cooper I could hang out with him a little and maybe Dory will bring the twins by later.   So far everything seems to be fine so I guess that means I get to go back to work Monday morning!!  And Bert's Birthday is Sunday so at least we can go out to eat or something since I don't feel like I need to be couch ridden!!  I go next Thursday so they can check everything out and make sure I'm ok so hopefully I will have some new pics!! 

Cervicl Cerclage

Well I finally talked to my Dr.'s office Thursday of last week and scheduled my cerclage so I will be going in Wednesday the 12th to have it done.  I know everything will go ok but I am still kind of freaked out about being put under since I have only had to go through that once in my life so far.  Atleast I know my baby will be ok after it's done.  Dr. Melham told me that I would need 1 day of strict bed rest and 1 week of rest so I am going to take vacation Wed-Fri and then I have the weekend.  Unfortunately I am not very good about being lazy all day but I will try my hardest.  I have decided that tomorrow I am going to go pick me up a few movies and when I am done with those it's LMN for the rest of the time and cuddle time with Sissy (the cutest dog in the world)!!  Here is a pic of here right after a new haircut!

Baby Skoruppa!!

I downloaded some ultrasound pictures and I have quiet a few already.  In my first post I forgot to mention that since I have had a LEEP done and also a freezing procedure when I was 15 they do not want to take any chances of me having and incompetent cervix.  LEEP is when you have abnormal cells on your cervix and they go in and shave off part of your cervix to remove it and the freezing procedure they go in and freeze abnormal cells so they are concerned that my cervix will not be able to hold my baby.  Within the next week or two I will have to go in and have a cerglage put in where they will stitch my cervix to hold the baby.  Not looking forward to this cause they will have to put me under :( but I have the best Doctors.  Anyways they wanted me to come in alot to track our babies growth and I guess decide when to do the cerclage so here are some pics.  They aren't the best but it's what I have.

Here is our 2nd at 6 weeks and 2 days we could already see the fast beating heartbeat it was so cute!!

Here is our 3rd at 8 weeks and 2 days you can barely see some little spots on the bottom thats a leg and arm trying to come out!

And here we are at 12 weeks and 2 days!!

And then this one the Dr. measured the baby and it is 5.92CM which is like 2.33"!!
