Moo-La is having a baby too!!!

As some of y'all may know I have a cow named Moo-La.  I got her when she was about 3 days old and bottle raised her to the wonderful friendly cow she is today.   She has already had one heifer and was a good mommy unlike her's but we had to sell her since they would still be in the same pasture with the same bull.  While we were gone on our honeymoon our neighbor had told us that the bulls had really been following her around and she might be bred so of course I was all excited.  I figured she would be having her baby around May but now it looks like she will be somewhere around middle of June and I just think that is so awkward that we are both prego at the same time.  Since then our neighbor has sold all of his cows and bulls since it's been so dry so Moo-La is all by herself out in the pasture.  It makes me sad sometimes when I am coming home she is standing next to the fence looking at the cows on the other side cause she is so lonely.  We hadn't been going out much to visit her cause I feel bad when she's all excited to see us and we have no feed for her she just walks off but Bert went the other day and got her some high protein cubes since she does have a little one growing in there.  While we were feeding her Tuesday I asked if we could put her in our horse pasutre until she had the baby so she will be right there and of course he said yes.  We have 48 acres on Lake Texana and our house sits on 2 and right behind our house we have about 2 more fenced off from the rest of the pasture that we usually keep our horses in but since it had been so dry we let the horses out to roam the rest so if we put her in the horse pasture I can walk outside and see her everday right there!!!  We talked more about it yesterday while we were feeding her and Bert said if we put her in there and she has another heifer we could tame that one down like she is and we can also KEEP her!!!  Now we wouldn't even think about keeping this one if the bull that bred Moo-La was still there but that bull is gone so we have no worries, but if it's a bull calf we will sell him so keep your fingers crossed that we have a heifer.  I will update and post pics as soon as my Moo-La becomes a mommy again.

As for me I am 32 Weeks and 5 Days along and these days it just seems to be kind of creeping by.  I guess I am getting more and more anxious that of course it's gonna go by slow.  We haven't got to see our baby since April 2nd and it's driving me nuts and our next u/s isn't until June 18th.  It's only 3 weeks but I'm sure it's gonna feel like forever so I will just try and keep myself busy which shouldn't be to hard since we have so much going on the next 2 weeks.  I am still constantly growing and my poor little feet can't handle too much more weight but all the discomforts are well worth it.  I have an appt next Tuesday so we will see what the Dr. says then but until then I will leave y'all with some pics not of me but of my beautiful cow.  I will post pics of me next week.

31 Weeks 3 Days!

I feel like I am so close to having this baby even though I still have 2 long months to go.  I am getting bigger by the day and just last week my ankles started swelling just a little, but I can't complain about anything cause I feel like I have been so lucky with my pregnancy since everything has gone so good.  About a month ago I started having this pain really high up like under my right boob well everytime I didn't have my bra on it was fine so I figured that was it and bought me a new one and it didn't help any but the pain still left at the end of the day so I just let it go.  Last week I noticed that the pain was no longer going away so I just waited it out until my next appt. which was yesterday.  Also on Monday morning I woke up with this very slight pressure low down but it wasn't bad so that was the next question for my Dr.  One of the nurses came in and checked my blood pressure, weight, and the heartbeat.  Heartbeat was at 148 this time and in just two very short weeks I have gained 7lbs so now that puts me at a total of 29lbs total gain so far.  I had told the nurse about the pressure so she knew the Dr. would want to check and make sure everything was ok.  Let me just say my Dr. is a very very busy man and I am surprised that I have been so lucky to see him at all but one appt. and they usually take forever...I schedule every appt for the same time everytime which is 1:30 and usually I am not out of there until 3ish sometimes later, but there's a lot of babies to be born.  So about 3 minutes after the nurse leaves she comes back in and ask if Dr. Nanda (not sure if I spelled that right) is ok that Dr. Cook was at a delivery and I was fine with that cause I wanted to hurry and get out of there.  Well 5 very short minutes later I hear Dr. Cook's voice in the hallway and I was so happy and sure enough here he comes.  He checked to see how everything was holding up and he said my stitch is holding up great and the pressure is because the our little ones head is low down and putting more pressure on my bladder and everything.  Then I asked about the pain under my boob so he told me it could possibly be my gallbladder or pancreas so he wanted to do blood work to make sure it was all ok.  So I will get those results back on Thursday.  My husband was finally able to go back to the Dr. with me this time so I decided we needed to tour the hospital.  My sister had all of her kids there so I knew where to go but I needed to show him.  We went across and up to labor and delivery and they had two new babies in there and they were so cute!!  The hospital is right across the street from where my appt's. are so we always park in the garage at my clinic and weren't to sure were to go for the hospital so we went to the lobby to check it out.  We looked down one hallway and could see outside so we headed that way.  There was a map on the wall we were looking at to see where we were and a very nice lady that worked at the hospital stopped and asked if she could help.  So we told her what we were doing and she gave us great directions to every where we will need to go on that day.   We walked outside and could see the street we drive everytime we go to the Dr. so it should be pretty easy for us.  Oh yeah and they have valet.  I was so worried about being left alone while Bert goes to park the car but not no more!!  I am almost ready for our little one to come and then the fun begins!!!  I'm not going to post any belly pics this time but I have another appt on May 31st so maybe I will with that post.  It looks the same just huge.  My maternity shirts are starting to not fit over it.  I feel like those really huge people that wear there shirts with there belly hanging out the bottom.

29 1/2 Weeks

I can not believe how fast my pregnancy seems to be going, but the quicker the better cause I am so anxious for our little one to be here!!  This past weekend was great!!  We do things every know and then but mostly just stay at home and it gets pretty boring.  Friday we got a call from a friend of ours and he needed Bert to look at his fridge that he had at his camp house on the Sandy's River.  Of course that was a little bit of work for Bert but it was nice to get out and go see some "long lost friends" of ours.  We had a really good time and ended up staying out there til a little after 10.  Saturday I was pretty tired so we just kind of bummed all morning then it was time to get ready for a wedding.  Some friends of our's got married this past weekend so 2 days in a row of getting out of the house and even though I was kind of tired it was great!!  The wedding was beautiful and we got to visit with people we haven't seen in a while!!  Neither one of us made it to long before we decided it was time to go home that was around 9:30 but we also had Church in the morning and I didn't want to be to tired for that.  Church was great the next morning and then after Bert had to go to work in Bay City so with him out of the house that was my time to clean.  As soon as he left I started and I wasn't finished cleaning until after he was already home which was about 3 1/2 hours later so I was wore out.  I fell asleep about 3:30 got up at 5 cooked supper and cleaned the kitchen up and laid back down.

Now for my very short and sweet appt. update.  I walked in the nurse weighed me and I only gained 1lb surprisingly.  It feels like every appt I gain 4-5 lbs not matter if they are 2 weeks apart or 4 weeks apart.  My blood pressure was good and then we got to hear the heartbeat at it was back up to 141.  This child's heartbeat is all over the place.  Dr. Cook came in measured my belly (he said I was measuring good) asked if I had any bleeding, cramps, or pressure and I said no and asked if I had any questions I said no scheduled my 2 week appt and left.  I still can't get over how well this pregnancy is going and I only have about 2 1/2 months left!!

And for some great news...my friend Rosy will be having her little man Chaz Allen pretty soon!!  She is 41 weeks and he decided he did not wanna leave his mama on his own so her Dr. decided to induce her.  She went in yesterday evening to get things started and this morning she has already dialated to 2 so hopefully he will be here pretty quick!!

27 Weeks 2 Days

Not that I have started my every 2 week appts it seems like the time to have our baby is right around the corner.  I'm already counting down appts...I have 4 left until I am 36 weeks and that is when Dr. Cook will decide what to do with me since I have my cerclage in.  Yesterday's appt went really well as always cause I just love chatting with my Dr.  The nurse came in to check my blood pressure, weight and the baby's heartbeat.  Blood pressure was good and I gained 4 more lbs in 2 weeks.  I think that's a lot but I guess I just have a big ole baby in there.  The heartbeat this time was 131...it just keeps going down.  The very first time I heard the heartbeat it was 158 and it's gone down everytime since then but it was still good and I just love hearing it.  Then Dr. Cook came in to check my cervix and he said everything looks great.  He told me we would go ahead and schedule my last big ultrasound when I am 35-36 weeks (they do these on Saturdays so I will have to come back in to see him) then I will go in the following week and decide what to do.  I have read with a cerclage they usually take it out around 36 weeks and let you go into labor on your own which I am hoping for.  I was kind of concerned about his plans for me cause I want the opportunity to have the baby naturally and I was worried they were going to want to do a c-section so I asked him yesterday and he said we will do everything we can for you to have this baby natural and that just made my day!!  So hopefully everything will keep going great for us I'm still just nervous about being so far from the hospital.

Mini-vacation & glucose results!!

Bert and I have been talking about getting away for a long weekend soon before I get to huge and miserable.  We talked about going to Galveston but I did not want to spend the money so we decided to ask my parents for the bay house.  I took off Thursday around 3 from work and headed home to pack since I wasn't going to work Friday.  We got there Thursday around 6ish and after unloading all of our luggage it was time to relax!!  It was a good long weekend and the weather wasn't to bad.  It did try and rain on us one day but it just sprinkled a little and that was it.  It was windy during the days but got really bad at night.  All in all it was a good trip the only thing I'm not happy about is I didn't get to fish at all.  Bert went twice but everywhere he went he had to walk like 2+ miles and there was no way I could do that I just wanted a chair and my fishing pole so maybe we can go again one weekend and I can do a little fishing.  We did get to put out our crab traps and we caught about 17 and then our neighbors down there had some out also and when Sunday came around they didn't feel like cleaning them so they gave them to us and we happily accepted!!  We cooked them yesterday evening along with some shrimp and had both our parents over and my sister-n-law Paula and everything turned out great!!

Now for my glucose results.  I did my glucose test last Monday and was anxious to get my results.  Since everything else was going so good with my pregnancy I was hoping this would come back good.  Well they never called last week so I called first thing Monday morning and left Mary Jane a message.  She called me around 11 and said my glucose test came back good (yay for no 3 hour test) but I am anemic.  She called me in a prescription for an iron supplement so now that's 3 pills I have to take everyday and I hate taking pills.  Bert makes fun of me all the time when I try and take my prenatal vitamins.  Maybe it's all in my head but I have a hard time swallowing them and I can not take pills with water I use to take them with a soda so now I take them with sprite and it's still horrible.  I have a Dr. appt on Monday so maybe I will have some more news then.

Two appt's in two days!!

The last time I went to the Dr. which was March 8th I just got to see Mary Jane and she told me to come back in a month for another big ultrasound which those take place on Saturday.  I was a little confused since I just had one and they said everything looked great but I didn't care cause it gave me another Saturday to do some shopping in Houston!!

Appt # 1 was Saturday April 2nd and I was exactly 25 weeks.  Bert is tired of going to Houston with me so he decided to go cut firewood with my Dad, Uncles, and Aunt so my mom went with me.  This was the first time she was going to get to see her grandbaby other than in pictures.  We got to the appt a little early but that was ok cause the ultrasound tech was there and got us back earlier.  It was a different lady than the last time which was fine cause I kind of liked her more.  She was more fun to talk to!!  After she was done taking all the measurements is when she let me look and took pics and explained everything to me.   My little baby has grown so much in this past month he/she is now 2lb 1oz and is measuring at 26weeks 3 days which is 1week 3 days ahead but she said this is fine.  And the hearbeat was 143.  She got a really cute picture of the feet that I just love and will post at the end.  When we were getting ready to leave she told me everything looked great.  That is so good to hear!!

Appt # 2 was Monday April 4th.  This is the day I had to take my glucose test and I also had questions for Dr. Cook about what his plans were since I have the cerclage (I really want to have the baby vaginally if possible)  and being so far away from the hospital.  My appt was at 8:45 and we got there about 8:30.  I wanted to get this over with cause I was starving and so thirsty but on the other hand I've heard such bad things about the stuff they make you drink that I was dreading being there.  The nurse called me back and weighed me and I gained 4lbs since my last appt, took my blood pressure which was good and listened to the heart beat which was 148 today.  Then she told me to go do my lab work and when I was done come back to the room.  So me and mom go to lab room and the lights are off and then they tell me she won't be in this morning cause she has an appt.  Ummm hello why didn't y'all call me to reschedule before I drove all the way here.  So then they ask if I want to come back next week and I was like no so they said I could go downstairs to another lab and have my work done so I went back to the room to tell my nurse.  She tells me she will go ahead and send Dr. Cook in to talk to me before I go downstairs so I won't have to come back up...2 minutes later she pops in and says Dr. Cook isn't here yet would you like to see Mary Jane.  Normally this is ok but I was really looking forward to seeing my Dr. and asking my questions so I told her I would wait.  I mean how much worse can this appt. get??  Miraculously not even 5 minutes later in walks Dr. Cook!!!  I was so happy!!   He looked at my ultrasound pics and all the notes and he goes everything looks perfect...knock on wood!!  He's so funny!!  So I have a perfect little baby and the perfect pregnancy so far.  As for my questions he said at 36 weeks they will determine what to do about my cerclage and I've read that around that time is when they would take it out and let you go into labor on your own which I am hoping for.  And answered a few other things for me.  As I was leaving he goes well I will be seeing you every 2 weeks now.  I can't believe I am at the every 2 weeks point.  So exciting!!  We went down to do my glucose test which wasn't that bad to me at all.  Now we just are waiting for results and hoping I don't have to do the 3 hour one.  As we were leaving I called Bert to tell him all the good news and he goes of course our baby is perfect your perfect!!  He can be so sweet!!  Well that's it for now I will post my results in a couple days when I get them.  Until then here are some pics.

That's a big belly I got going on!

Bored!!

Well I am sitting here at work and I am very bored so I have decided to blog.  I keep watching my calendar waiting for our next appt which is April 2nd and then another on April 4th but I feel like I haven't been in so long and it's only been 2 weeks.  I guess at our last appt I didn't get to see my Dr. and I didn't have an ultrasound to see my little one so I guess that just has me anxious to go back.  Today our furniture finally came in...I feel like I ordered it forever ago.  They had called yesterday to give me a time frame from 8 a.m to 12 p.m and I was hoping Bert would be home to meet the delivery people.  Well he ended up having to go to work so we called his mom to come and sit at the house cause someone had to be there so she was just going to call me and I was going to hurry over there so I could make sure they didn't damage anything.  The last thing I do in the morning is straighten my hair and that is usually around 7 but I was taking my time today so it was about 7:30 and Bert was getting ready to leave and he comes in and tells me my furniture is here.  Really??  At 7:30 in the morning these guys must be early birds.  I was extremely happy!!!  They unloaded it all and it's all packaged up so I couldn't see if it was damaged or not and I dreaded coming to work cause I wanted to unbox everything and get going on setting it up but here I sit still patiently waiting for 5.  Anyways I guess our baby was pretty excited about his/her furniture cause he/she was very active this morning and all I had for breakfast was a bowl of cheerios so I don't know why but is was fun sitting at my desk feeling our baby rolling around in there for about 10 minutes.  And he/she has been pretty active all day but I guess that half piece of chocolate cake from Jack's didn't help at lunch but it sure was yummy!!!  So my evening tonigt will consist of unboxing and setting up the furniture if I can get my hubby to help.

About a week ago my baby center app said I need to take a baby moon before I get all huge and not wanting to do anything but I was like yeah that will never happen so I just ignored it.  Last night while there was a commercial between "One Born Every Minute" Bert was like why don't we book a weekend to Galveston, he said we could rent one of those little bike things and ride along the seawall and find other fun things to do.  I was very surprised but I guess after watching that show he really understands how much we have to go through.  He is so sweet sometimes!!  Looking for hotels and availability really gave me something to do today being we are looking for a room in Galveston on such short notice but hopefully we can come across something.

I almost forgot.  This past weekend was very busy for us.  We had two very important weddings and we couldn't miss either one.  The first was for Bert's niece Kara and it was in Edna at 3 then Ganado for the reception.  Everything was beautiful and she looked gorgeous of course!!  Congrats Kara & Coby!!   We got to stay long enough to see all the family and talk for a little while then it was off to the second wedding.  My cousin Brandy got married in Dayton at 5:30.  We didn't make it for the wedding but we made it about 7 just in time to eat and I was hungry.  We had a good time seeing everyone and we even did the grand march with Livy Lou (my niece-she had a good time) and everything turned out so nice.  Congrats Brandy and Blake hope y'all are having an awesome time at the Bahamas!!  It was over about 11 and I was exhausted so I figured I would sleep late for once.  Yeah that didn't work out.  I was up and ready early so I met my dad downstairs for breakfast so Bert could sleep longer and we left about 10ish.  Then we met up with half the family to eat at Chili's in Rosenberg so by the time I got home Sunday afternoon I was wiped out and I didn't feel fully recooperated until this morning when I got up.

Well that's it for today.  I will have a baby update in about 2 weeks!!
